FB Live Update: Top 11 benefits to free-writing for your child

Did you get a chance to see my first FB live?

Well if you didn't, no worries.

There is still a chance to see the pre-recorded version.

I wanted to take the time to thank everyone who tuned into my first FB live last Thursday.

This was the second live in my exclusive FB group: 'The Busy Parents' Literacy Club' - An private group for parents who need literacy support for their teenager.

The topic was:

FB Live Update: Top 11 benefits to free writing for your child

This topic was a previous blog post a few moons ago that my readers loved, so I thought I would do a FB Live on this popular topic.

Now, you might be thinking:

What is freewriting?

Freewriting is when your child is not given any writing prompts or ideas of what to write about from yourself or a teacher.

They just sit and write whatever they like! It is supposed to encourage your child to tap into their stream of consciousness, they may get inspiration from something that happened that day, or an object they can see in the very room they are writing in, they can write about anything!

So we discussed:

  1. How can you implement free writing into their homeschool or in school schedule?

  2. Which literacy activities can you use freewriting?

  3. What are the long term benefits of freewriting?
